What is an eSIM? What do I use it for?
An embedded SIM (eSIM) works in the same way as a regular SIM card to provide you with network reception. But unlike a SIM card, you don’t have to physically insert an eSIM—just download and install it on your device and you’re all set.
You can use eSIMs to avoid expensive roaming fees while traveling, as well as switch data carriers without fiddling around with physical SIM cards.

How do I get the eSIM?
If you’re eligible for a free eSIM, you’ll receive an email with your coupon code and instructions once your subscription begins. If you’re on a free trial, your eSIM coupon code will be sent after the trial ends and your paid subscription starts. If you sign in to the holiday.com app with ExpressVPN, your coupon code is automatically applied to your first purchase.
You can also find your coupon code on the ExpressVPN site. After signing in, go to My Account and select Subscription. Under Add-ons, look for your holiday.com eSIM and select View Coupon to display your coupon code and redemption instructions.

If your device is compatible with eSIMs and carrier-unlocked, you should be able to set up a holiday.com eSIM without a hitch. However, devices originating from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau do not support eSIMs.

Yes. You can buy the eSIM directly from the holiday.com app. However, you cannot buy the eSIM directly from ExpressVPN.
Can I buy additional data packs for my eSIM?
Yes. You can buy additional data packs for your holiday.com eSIM from the holiday.com app. However, you cannot buy additional data for your eSIM from ExpressVPN.

Can I cancel or refund the eSIM?
Yes, holiday.com eSIMs are flexible and commitment-free. If your eSIM is unused, you can request a full refund within 6 months (180 days) of purchase, no questions asked. Just make sure it was bought directly through the holiday.com app. The same applies if your device turns out to be incompatible or carrier-locked.
If you experience connectivity issues due to a fault on our end, reach out to holiday.com Support as soon as possible during your trip, and you may be eligible for a full or partial refund depending on data usage.
All refunds are issued to the original payment method.
Can I move or reinstall the eSIM?
Once your eSIM has been installed, it cannot be moved to a different device. If it has been deleted/removed, it can only be reinstalled on the same device.
How do I redeem my coupon code?
If a holiday.com eSIM is included as part of your ExpressVPN subscription, you will receive a confirmation email with your coupon code and instructions on how to redeem it. Eligible users who are on a free trial offer will receive their eSIM once the free trial period ends, and their paid subscription begins.

To redeem your code from your ExpressVPN account dashboard:
- Sign into your ExpressVPN account.
- From the menu on the left-hand side, select holiday.com eSIM.
- Select Redeem on holiday.com.
- You will be redirected to the holiday.com website or app. If the holiday.com app is not yet installed on your device, proceed with installing the app through the App Store or Google Play Store using an eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked device.
- Sign up for holiday.com using the Sign Up with ExpressVPN option.
- Select your destination, and choose your preferred duration.
- Kindly note that if you select a duration longer than the allocated amount on your code, the code will be applied as a discount.
- The coupon code will automatically be applied. Please verify that the price reflects your discount before finalizing. Once confirmed, continue to checkout.
To redeem your code from the confirmation email:
- Select the link included in the email. You will then be directed to the holiday.com app. If the holiday.com app is not yet installed on your device, proceed with installing the app through the App Store or Google Play Store using an eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked device.
- Sign up for holiday.com using the Sign Up with ExpressVPN option.
- Select your destination, and choose your preferred duration.
- Kindly note that if you select a duration longer than the allocated amount on your code, the code will be applied as a discount.
- The coupon code will automatically be applied. Please verify that the price reflects your discount before finalizing. Once confirmed, continue to checkout.
For manual redemption:
- Sign into your ExpressVPN account.
- From the menu on the left-hand side, select holiday.com eSIM.
- Select
to copy your coupon code. - Using an eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked device, download the holiday.com app through the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Sign up, select your destination, and choose your preferred duration.

How long do I have to redeem the code?
You have until the end of your current ExpressVPN plan to redeem your coupon code. Once you have redeemed the code on holiday.com, you have 365 days to install and activate the eSIM.

You have 365 days to install and activate the eSIM once you redeem your one-time coupon code.

If you are unable to successfully redeem your coupon code, make sure you:
