Before you get started

Verification codes are sent by email, so your ExpressVPN account must have an email address associated with it.

If you subscribed to ExpressVPN in-app through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and did not provide an email address, you will not be able to receive verification codes until you add one to your account. To do this, follow our guide on how to set up an email address and password for your ExpressVPN accounts.

If you have access to your email

If your account has an email address but you are not receiving the verification code, try these steps in order:

1. Check your spam or junk folder

Email providers sometimes mistake verification emails for spam. You should check your Spam or Junk folder for an email titled “Your ExpressVPN verification code.”

To prevent future verification codes from ending up outside your inbox, you can mark the email as Not Spam or Not Junk and add the sender’s name to your contacts. Here is how to do both (where supported) in popular email clients:

  1. Go to the Spam folder and look for an email titled “Your ExpressVPN verification code.”
  2. Open it and select Report as not spam.
  3. Next, click the sender’s name or email address, then select Add to contacts so future verification code emails go to your inbox.

  1. Open the Junk folder and look for an email titled “Your ExpressVPN verification code.”
  2. This step differs on iOS and macOS:
    • On iPhone or iPad: Tap the folder icon and tap Move to Folder > Inbox.
    • On Mac: Right-click the email and select Move to Inbox.

  1. Open the Junk Email folder and look for an email titled “Your ExpressVPN verification code.”
  2. Select it. Then, select the three dots > Report > Not junk.
  3. To add the sender to your Safe senders list directly: go to Settings > Mail > Junk email > Safe senders and domains, then select Add safe sender and enter the sender’s email address.

2. Request a new verification code

If you could not find the ExpressVPN email with the verification code, try requesting a new one.

  1. Return to the sign-in page.
  2. Enter your email address for your account again.
  3. A new verification code will be sent to your email. Check your inbox, as well as your Spam or Junk folder.

3. Check your email on another device or email client

This can help determine whether the issue is specific to your current device or email app.

  1. Open your email account on a different device.
  2. Check your inbox and your Spam or Junk folder for the verification email.

4. Update your email address

If you still do not see the ExpressVPN verification code email after the steps above, contact the ExpressVPN Support Team to update your account with an email address that can receive verification emails.
