ExpressVPN supports v10.54.0.8 of the Windows app for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 users.

All other Version 10 releases were deprecated and can no longer connect to our VPN servers. If you are running an older version release, you will not be able to establish a VPN connection. Your internet will still work, but your traffic will be completely unprotected.

We officially support Version 12 and above of the ExpressVPN app for Windows on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Please note that Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. While the latest version of the ExpressVPN app continues to support Windows 10, we recommend upgrading to Windows 11 for the most secure experience.

What you need to do next

If you are running Windows 7, 8, or 8.1:

  1. Download v10.54.0.8 of the ExpressVPN app for Windows. To do that, go to your ExpressVPN+ portal and click Download older version to get it.

If you are running Windows 10 or newer:

  1. Download the latest version of the ExpressVPN app for Windows.

If you are unsure which Windows operating system you are using, refer to this guide.

If you are unsure which version of the ExpressVPN app for Windows you are using:

  1. Open the ExpressVPN app for Windows.
  2. Click Help in the left-side menu.
  3. Scroll down to App details.
  4. The version number will be displayed next to App version.
